Prefabrication can be used to accelerate construction assemblies. Indoor assembly can offer distinct advantages over stick built construction in extreme weather. This session will discuss the details the design professional must consider when framing systems are to incorporate panelized techniques. The capabilities of prefabrication facilities, the handling and engineering challenges and the treatment of joints and field connection techniques will be explored. This can allow for design of the building in a manner that maximizes the efficiencies of panelized construction but does not compromise the integrity of the structure, the buidling aesthetic and design intent.
CSI members are experts in building construction and the materials used therein and are dedicated to improving the communication of construction information.
