President
Joe Lobdell AIA, CSI
Project Manager with Flad Architects, New York City an architecture and engineering firm. Manage all phases of work, quality control and financials of new construction and renovations for multi-million-dollar diverse projects in Education, Healthcare and Commercial fields. Enjoy full breadth of responsibilities from business development/networking, concept design through project closeout. Great sense of humor.
As an avid cyclist, I would rather be cycling around the office handling the everyday challenges of presenting designs of facilities to owners than sitting behind a desk. Over my career I have calmly multi-tasked between managing multiple design projects/teams, budgets, and handling construction management.
My multiple interests include sailing on a warm summer day and when the weather does not allow me to chase the wind, I enjoy carpentry projects. Not to leave the best for last, but my continued passion for photography began at an early age in my photography dark room with “black & white” film.
Received my Architectural education from The Ohio State University, Columbus, Ohio. Registered Architect in New Jersey, New York, Delaware, Ohio.

Welcome to the Northeast Region (NER) of the Construction Specification Institute. On behalf of the Northeast Regional Board, I would like to welcome all to our FY22. The NER is very excited to resume and looks forward to all of our in-person chapter membership functions after a long period of separation & virtual meetings. As things may have changed for many of us it’s time to reunite and grow our membership. The Northeast Region is excited and looks forward to the Northeast Regional Conference in Plymouth, Massachusetts, April 28-30, 2022, along with the National Conference in Nashville, September 22-24, 2021.
CSI National level has over 10,000 members. The Northeast Region of 15 chapters represents over 700 members. The NER’s “engine” runs with the ongoing Chapter & Regional volunteers, support, enthusiasm which provide the “horsepower” to operate and run our membership. Both the Chapter and Region level has active committees looking for your involvement, spirit and shared knowledge ……REACH OUT AND PLEASE GET INVOLVED!
As our leadership evolves, we are looking to the future and next generation of CSI members/leaders. I ask that we all reach out to students in high school – ACE programs, Trade Schools/Colleges and those that are just starting to blossom in our industry and invite them to join and participate to help expand our next generation of the CSI community.
In closing, I wish to say thank you to the board for your vote of confidence in electing me to President. I look forward to serving as your CSI Northeast Region President and experiencing growth, shared knowledge and comradery throughout my term.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to me.
