Climate Predictions and Nature-Based Solutions – Rochester Chapter

  • Understand the difference between climate change impacts and land use/development impacts.
  • Learn about the climate prediction tools that are available to help understand how climate change will affect a target area.
  • Gain a better understanding of how engineering design parameters can be developed based on climate prediction models to make buildings and infrastructure more resilient for future climate conditions.
  • Learn some basic types of “nature-based solutions” to supplement existing stormwater systems, mitigate shoreline and streambank erosion, and reduce urban heat island effects.
