2026: Leaning into the “Soon to be Possible”
Specifications are no longer static documents. They are becoming strategic instruments.
Materials are no longer chosen only for cost and availability, but for carbon, resilience, and long-
term value. Education is no longer confined to classrooms or conferences, but embedded in
communities, chapters, and real projects.
CSI—especially the Northeast Region—is uniquely positioned in this moment.
As I travel around to region events, it is clear that our members sit at the intersection of design,
construction, manufacturing, and ownership. We understand how ideas become instructions, and
how instructions become reality. That perspective is no longer a “nice-to-have.” It is essential.
In the year ahead, the opportunity is not simply to do more—but to do more of what only we can
do:
- Elevate clarity in an increasingly complex industry
- Translate innovation into buildable practice
- Strengthen professional confidence through shared standards and shared learning
- Create spaces—both physical and intellectual—where emerging professionals and
seasoned leaders learn from one another
The “soon-to-be possible” is not a single initiative or event. It is a posture. A readiness. A
willingness to step slightly ahead of where the industry expects us to be.
As we enter the new year, let’s carry forward the Northeast Region’s defining strengths:
curiosity, rigor, collaboration, and a quiet confidence in the value we bring.
Thank you for the work you do, the expertise you share, and the community you help sustain.
- Take a moment to view and comment on the new Strategic Plan Draft (posted on
website) - Request CSI HQ Staff or National Board Members at your next event
- Add your conference to the CSI National and Regional CSI Calendar
The future isn’t abstract anymore.
It’s coming into focus—and we are well positioned to help shape it.
Wishing you a thoughtful close to the year and a purposeful beginning to the next.
Cheers,
Frank Mruk
Northeast Region CSI President
